Waselenchuk & De La Rosa play in the final of the 2018 IRT LA Open

Kane Waselenchuk and Daniel De La Rosa will square off in the final of the International Racquetball Tour (IRT) 2018 Los Angeles Open in Canoga Park, California. In the semi-finals, Waselenchuk, the 2nd seed, defeated 6th seed Mario Mercado, 15-5, 15-2, and 4th seed De La Rosa upse top seed and IRT #1 Rocky Carson, 15-5, 15-7. Carson’s loss and Waselenchuk’s win will almost certainly mean a flip of the two in the next IRT rankings, as Carson was ahead of Waselenchuk by a little over 84 points.

The doubles final will be between 2nd seeds Jake Bredenbeck and Jose Diaz and 5th seeds Alejandro Landa and Samuel Murray. Bredenbeck and Diaz needed a tie-breaker in the semi-finals to fend off 3rd seeds Jansen Allen and Charlie Pratt, 15-8, 14-15, 11-5, while Landa and Murray beat 8th seeds Adam Manilla and Nicolas Riffel, 15-14, 15-2, in the other semi.

The finals are Sunday morning at 11 AM for singles and noon for doubles. Go to the IRT Network, or the IRT Facebook page, for the action. All times Pacific.
