Rodrigo Montoya came into the World Racquetball Tour (WRT) Pleasanton Open in Pleasanton, California, as the #11 seed. He leaves as the tournament champion, as he defeated WRT #1 Alejandro Cardona, 6-15, 15-5, 11-1, the final Sunday.

Montoya, the current World Junior Boy’s U18 Champion, added to the doubles title to the singles title, and did so in the same fashion, as he and Andree Parrilla lost the first game against Jaime Martell and Jose Daniel Ugalde, but came back to win in three games, and it wasn’t close in the breaker, as Montoya and Parrilla blanked Martell and Ugalde in game three, winning the match 10-15, 15-11, 11-0.

The next WRT event is the Rocky Mountain Open in Salt Lake City, Utah, November 2-5, 2016.
