Waselenchuk wins 2014 IRT Florida Spring Break tournament

Kane Waselenchuk won his 76th International Racquetball Tour (IRT) event by defeating Rocky Carson in the final of the Florida Spring Break tournament in Tampa, Florida, 11-2, 11-5, 11-3. Waselenchuk's 76 wins is the career IRT record.

Waselenchuk played well, but his cause was helped by Carson, who was not sharp. Carson acknowledged that afterwards saying "to not execute when I get chances is frustrating," and it was definitely a frustrating day for Carson.

Waselenchuk won in Florida without losing a game. That was the twenty sixth time he's done that in the last six seasons during which he's won 54 times. So, Waselenchuk's almost 50-50 to win without dropping a game in that period (26 wins without losing a game and 28 with).

There are only two more Tier 1 events left in the 2013-14 IRT season. The IRT's next Tier 1 tournament is the Ektelon In-Shape Open in Stockton, California May 1-4, and that will be followed by the Pro Kennex Tournament of Champions in Portland, Oregon May 15-18.
