2010 US Open - Rajsich advances to final

Second seed Rhonda Rajsich will have a chance to defend her US Open title, as she defeaeted Christie Huczek in semi-finals of the 2010 US Open in Minneapolis, 11-5, 11-5, 11-9. Rajsich, the #2 player in the Women's Professional Racquetball Organization (WPRO), could be the first woman to win four titles on Sunday.

Early on it looked like the story would quite different, as Huczek led 5-0 in game one. But Rajsich then ran off 11 consecutive points to win it. Game two was close, but then with Rajsich leading 6-5 she pushed on to win 11-5.

In game three Rajsich was ahead early, but then Huczek came back and led 5-4. Rajsich then went up 8-5 before Huczek tied it at 8-8.

Rajsich then got two points to make it 10-8, but Huczek fought off three match points and closed the gap to 10-9. Then on her fourth opportunity, Rajsich finished the job, and won the match in three games.

Rajsich will face a Mexican woman in the final, as countrywomen Paola Longoira - the #1 seed - and Samantha Salas Solis - the 5th seed - will play in the other semi-final later.

The second women's semi final will be at 2 PM CDT at the Lifetime Fitness - Target Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
